I am the very blessed mother of an 11 year old Disney Princess and a 9 year old Disney Princess. My husband tries to say that he is the bigger Disney Fan, but just between you and me, he is not! We were running a close tie but I think my Disney College of Knowledge Diploma.... puts me in first place!
I visited Walt Disney World twice as a child. It wasn’t until the early 1990’s while living in Southern California that I truly fell in love. With Disneyland costing only $5/day for California residents, it was cheaper to spend the day there, than at a movie. I lost count of the number of trips we made!
In 2003, with our princesses now 2 & 4, we thought it was the perfect time to make the Big Trip to Orlando. I thought we would go when they were young, again when they were pre-teen & once more when they were teenagers! Boy was I wrong! In addition to our February 2003 trip, we’ve been in 2005, 2006, 2007, twice in 2008, 2009 and cruised on the Disney Wonder.
People ask me why we go so much. It is a question I love answering. Everyone’s lives are busier than they’ve ever been. There is no other place on earth where you truly leave your cares behind and enter a world of fantasy. It is a re-connecting week for us every year. There is no work, no projects, no cell phones, no homework, no cable news. Just the four of us, relaxing, enjoying each other and having the time of our lives in the most Magical place on earth!

Holidays at Disney
It’s hard to imagine that the most magical place on earth could get more magical. But it does! Disney celebrates the holidays like no-one else. The decorations, window displays, and cast costumes are over the top in the spirit of the season. The Magical Christmas scents spill from bakeries, snack carts, and parade floats. Bright lights are strung from one end of the property to the other, and Princesses wear their holiday finest. There are life size gingerbread and chocolate displays, nightly tree lighting ceremonies, special holiday fireworks, parades and window displays, immersive “Christmas Around the World” story-telling at EPCOT, and of course… SANTA.
