Disney’s Boardwalk Resort updates
Disney’s Boardwalk Resort will be getting some sweet new additions to its lobby and promenade. A new lobby re-design and nearby coffee bar will bring comfort, beauty, and charm to this turn of the century beachside inspired deluxe resort.
The new coffee bar will offer specialty coffees and artisanal beverages as well as quick grab and go bites . Seating indoors or out will be available for guests wanting to sit a spell.
You can also expect to see refreshed guest rooms, additional dining options, and other special touches once completed sometime in 2023.
One of the things I most enjoy about staying at the Disney’s Boardwalk Resort area is strolling around the waterside promenade. Now there is another reason to visit. The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is coming soon. The Cake Bake Shop be a table service restaurant serving both sweet and savory dishes. The thing I’m most excited about? They will be offering Tea Service! It can be so hard to get a reservation at the Grand Floridian for tea. Now I have another excuse to hop over to the Disney’s Boardwalk Resort.
The theming and atmosphere of the new Cake Bake Shop is said to be whimsical and idyllic and capture the charm of Disney’s Seaside themed resorts.
With the new addition of the Cake Bake Shop Disney will be retheming the Boardwalk Bakery with a new sandwich shop where guests can grab a bite to enjoy by the waterside.
Disney’s Boardwalk Resort area
The Boardwalk Promenade is home to three of Disney’s deluxe resorts. The Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Boardwalk resorts encircle Crescent Lake and are just short walking distance to Epcot and approximately a 10 minute walk to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The Boardwalk area is home to several eateries and shops including but not limited to an ice cream, bakery, and pizza shop. Several shops featuring everything from apparel to art and collectables also line the waterway.
Beach Club Resort is also where you will find the Disney Fan Favorite Beaches and Cream Soda Shop. You can order everything here from diner styles meals and every ice cream novelty you can dream of including the famous Kitchen Sink.
One of my favorite bars along the Boardwalk is the Abracadabra Bar which is surprisingly not as well known as others on property. This former Magician’s hangout is full of surprise and magic. Keep your eyes open here and be sure to ask the bartenders about the storyline and magical potions. The unexpected can happen quickly here!
From Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and promenade you can walk to the nearby Swan and Dolphin Resorts just across the bridge for even more dining options. I love taking this walk during the holidays and seeing all the resorts decked out with all their Christmas decorations.
I am so completely excited to check out the new updates coming soon. Stay tuned to WDW Travels to keep up to date on all the new changes coming.
Here are some of my favorite things to bring on my WDW Travels!
Thank you for reading this article. I hope you found it helpful as you plan your magical vacation. Here are some things that I used on my own magical trips and I hope you’ll also find them helpful as well.
These are affiliate links, so if you do decide to use any of them, I’ll earn a commission. But in all honesty, these are the exact items that I use and recommend to everyone, even my own family.
General Carry Items: These are probably some of the most important things that everyone should have with them at Disney World.
A Good Pair of Disney Sunglasses – (I use this cheap pair all the time)
Every Day Chapstick – (I always have this on me anyway)
Sunscreen – (This is my Every Day Carry Sunscreen Ladies)
Park Bag: I’ve seen lots of people go to Disney World and make the simple mistake of not coming prepared. You can pick up a nice Loungefly park bag like this one and save the day for your family.
A Good Pair Of Sandals: Ladies, there’s nothing like a good pair of sandals like these in the parks. That way when it rains and your feet get wet you aren’t stuck walking around in a wet pair of sneakers all day.
Portable Neck Fans: These are just the most amazing little invention that you NEED to have at least for the kiddos. They charge via USB and are highly recommended, especially if you are going in the summer heat. You can check them out over here on Amazon.
Planning Your Trip: I know that planning a trip can be a lot. If you want more help planning your next trip I 100% recommend using The Vacationeer as a travel agent. They go above and beyond for their clients and they are the only ones that I can say that I would trust to plan my family’s travel.
