A family favorite Chef Mickey’s, located inside of the Contemporary resort, has reopened!
With the new health and safety guidelines, buffet-style restaurants didn’t really have a reopening date. Disney has found a workaround to reopen a classic breakfast spot!
Instead of having the traditional buffet-style food service, you will be offered an all you care to enjoy family-style breakfast. Servers will bring around family-size portions of your favorite foods to share as a table. Family foods include pastries, mixed fruit, Mickey Waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, and ham along with other favorites.
I think that moving forward we will see a lot of buffet-style restaurants transitioning to this family-style service as they start to reopen. I know that this will be great for families with little ones to be able to have the food brought to your table instead of having to juggle several plates in a normal buffet line. I think this is a great switch up for this fantastic restaurant.
The new cost for this dining experience is $25 for adults and $15 for kids 3-9. As always, Milk, Juice, and coffee are included. Reservations are strongly recommended as this is a popular dining spot and with tables being spaced apart, spots will fill up fast. For now, they are only offering Breakfast service from 7 am thru 11:30 am daily. If for some reason this is not your preferred style of ordering food and you are already in the Contemporary, the Wave is another great option.
There is no word yet as to if there will be any character interactions. They could move to a similar style that Topolino’s Terrace is doing, where the characters walk around the restaurant and from a distance will wave to all of the tables or they may hold off on having characters there for now. We will be sure to update this post as more information comes out!
