Welcome to the ultimate guide to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort French Quarter, a magical escape into the heart of New Orleans at Walt Disney World. This resort invites you to experience the enchantment of the Big Easy, with its intricate wrought-iron balconies, cobblestone streets, and beautiful gardens.
Whether you’re traveling with your family, as a couple or a solo trip the Port Orleans French Quarter has something for everyone. In this comprehensive guide, you will find everything you need to know about this enchanting resort, including room options, dining options, and recreational activities.
This is such a fun resort with so many cute features that I had a really good time exploring!
The Port Orleans French Quarter offers standard rooms, rooms with a pool or river view and king bed rooms. Rooms here accommodate up to 4 guests and allow a crib for children 3 and under by request.
All rooms at the French Quarter are equipped with two double beds or one king-size bed, a TV, a mini-fridge, coffee maker, telephone, in room safe, iron and ironing board, WiFi and usb outlets as well as normal outlets.
The bathrooms have a separate vanity area with the toilet and shower/bath combo in its own room, makes it perfect for getting ready in the mornings!
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is the resort’s main food court, offering a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. From beignets and gumbo to jambalaya and po’boys, the menu at Sassagoula Floatworks offers a taste of New Orleans that will delight your taste buds.
In my opinion this is one of the better food courts at the resorts and has a lot of good options in a fun atmosphere. There are all kinds of great Marie Gras memorabilia throughout the food court.
Although the resort doesn’t have a table service restaurant, Disney Springs is a short boat ride away where there are tons of options for a sit down meal.
Bars & Lounges
Port Orleans French Quarter has two bar options, Mardi Grogs is the pool bar and Scat Cat’s Club is inside by the main lobby.
Mardi Grogs offers alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks as well as small snacks right outside the Doubloon Pool with a small amount of seating. Scat Cat’s is where you will find those man catching Beignets!! They have a small walk up that is open during the day with limited beignet options and then the lounge opens at 5pm with drinks and specialty beignets like the boozy beignets! There is limited seating here too but a super fun environment and of course, beignets!
The resort’s only pool is called the Doubloon Pool and it is super colorful and fun. It includes a giant serpent water slide with King Triton steering the huge creature. There are also alligator musicians, a splash zone for smaller swimmers that includes a smaller water slide and so many fun Mardi Gras themed touches!
Sports and Games
The resort also offers bike rentals, fishing, and a playground for children right by the pool. Additionally, guests can enjoy roasting marshmallows by a campfire in select nights, movies on the lawn, horse drawn carriage rides, jogging trails and an arcade.
