There are so many fun and free Disney World souvenirs you can pick up during your Disney vacation. I remember before I moved next door to Disney I would take my yearly vacations and the thought of having the leave at the end of my trip was heartbreaking. I would find joy in anything I could save to take back with me. In fact I still have some Mickey Confetti I found on the ground tucked away in my jewelry box. Of course I had purchased many souvenirs in the shops but its the ones that didn’t cost anything that I most cherished. This was especially true when it was given by a cast member and we got to engage a bit in some conversation with them.
When I got home I had a box of all my Disney memories and whenever I was needing a little cheering up I would look through everything and start planning my next trip for the coming year. Here are some idea of items you can get for free while visiting the parks.
Kids can complete all sorts of fun activities around Epcot’s World Showcase. When visiting various countries look for the Kidcot locations and they will be free activities your kids can complete and take with them. I remember my kids coloring those Duffy Bears on a stick. They loved those and carried them everywhere!
You can also ask a cast member working the station to write your childs name out in the countries native language.
Whenever you get into any of the parks, and even at Disney Springs, you can go to Customer Service and ask for a free button. There are buttons “1st Visit” , “Im Celebrating” ( they fill in what your celebrating) , “Happily Ever After” , and of course “Happy Birthday”. It doesnt even have to be your actual birthday. Your birthday month qualifies!
Leis from the Polynesian Resort
If you end up over at Disney’s Polynesian Resort for some shopping or a dinner reservations you may sometimes be greeted at the door with a complementary leis. You can also ask at the front desk if no one is greeting guests that day.
When using Disney transportation you can ask if they have any transportation trading cards. Most of the time they will have them but if not you can ask again on your next ride. Busses , boats, and monorails all have their own cards. There are even different cards for the different tyes of boats and colors of the monorail. We had a blast collecting them all.
Free Disney Stickers
You will often see cast members in various locations handing out stickers to young children. They are various designs based on location. This is always a big hit with kids. The usual design is a Mickey head but it was fun to collect some of the more rare types over our many trips.
Drink Coasters and Children’s Menu and Coloring Pages
Some of the more themed restaurants will have disposable drink coasters with their logos on them. Olgas Cantina has some of the best. I asked a cast member that was serving us if we were able to keep our and she said yes plus she brought us some fresh ones. There are so many cool designs. Sometimes the restaurants hand out coloring pages as well. I still have the Woody coloring page my son did years ago at Wilderness Lodge.
Don’t underestimate how special a simple autograph can be. Kids will treasure interacting with their hero’s in real life and collecting autographs is one of the best Disney World Souvenirs you can get. Make sure to take a picture of your child receiving the autograph and when you get home you can frame the picture with the autograph below. NOTE- While character meet and greets had been downgraded to character sightings due to Covid precautions Disney has stated Character meet and greets will be returning shortly. Normal face to face character meet and greet have already returned to Disneyland Paris. Be sure to inquire before your trip to find out the latest safety guidelines in relation to Covid safety and prevention.
Tomorrowland Speedway Drivers License
Over at the Tomorrowland Speedway in Magic Kingdom you can ask a cast member if they have any driver license cards available. If the cast member has time they will give you paper license card to make your little one feel like a official race car driver.
Wilderness Explorers Handbook
Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom your little ones can take follow in the footsteps of Russell from Disney’s / Pixar’s Up film and earn their Wilderness Explorer Badges by taking part in and completing activities around the parks. The book and stickers they earn is their for the keeping. The best part is the memories they take with them.
Park Maps and Times Guides
At the entrance to every park and including Disney Springs is a kiosk with park pamphlets and a times guide for the days shows. These are great Disney World Souvenirs because you can look back over the years and see how things have changed. Rides, park layout’s and even theming can change so much over the years that its great to have something to look back on and remember.
Mardi Gras Beads at Port Orleans
If you end up over at Disney’s Port Orleans you may be greeted and welcomed with Mardi Gras beads. Its a little hit and miss but if you are staying there don’t be shy about asking when you check in. If you are just visiting with a dinner reservation or to do some shopping you may time it just right.
Free Sprinkles Cupcake at Disney Springs
While technically not a souvenir it is free. Over at Disney Springs Sprinkles Cupcakes location you can get a free cupcake on your birthday if you sign up on Sprinkles website for their Sprinkles Perks Loyalty Program. Make sure to bring your birthday boy or girl over there once your done with your shopping.
Free Necklace at Diamonds International in Disney Springs
Next time you head to Disney Springs be sure to grab a pamphlet / brochure and in the back you will see a ad that advertises a complementary diamond heart necklace. Head on over and just ask , no coupon needed.
Ask at the front desk of not only the resort you are staying at but any resort you visit for a resort map. These are a great free Disney World Souvenir and can even be fun artwork for your wall if you frame them.
The best souvenirs are of course the memories you take with you with makes for my favorite Disney World Souvenir of all , photographs. Free and priceless! These are affiliate links, so if you do decide to use any of them, I’ll earn a commission. But in all honesty, these are the exact items that I use and recommend to everyone, even my own family.
General Carry Items: These are probably some of the most important things that everyone should have with them at Disney World.
A Good Pair of Disney Sunglasses – (I use this cheap pair all the time)
Every Day Chapstick – (I always have this on me anyway)
Sunscreen – (This is my Every Day Carry Sunscreen Ladies)
Park Bag: I’ve seen lots of people go to Disney World and make the simple mistake of not coming prepared. You can pick up a nice Loungefly park bag like this one and save the day for your family.
A Good Pair Of Sandals: Ladies, there’s nothing like a good pair of sandals like these in the parks. That way when it rains and your feet get wet you aren’t stuck walking around in a wet pair of sneakers all day.
Portable Neck Fans: These are just the most amazing little invention that you NEED to have at least for the kiddos. They charge via USB and are highly recommended, especially if you are going in the summer heat. You can check them out over here on Amazon.
Planning Your Trip: I know that planning a trip can be a lot. If you want more help planning your next trip I 100% recommend using The Vacationeer as a travel agent. They go above and beyond for their clients and they are the only ones that I can say that I would trust to plan my family’s travel.
