If you are like my husband and I, we didn’t get the opportunity to have a Disney Wedding. As with most couples traditionally you have the wedding near family and friends to make travel easier for everyone. If given the choice to go back and do it all over again Disney would absolutely be our dream location. That’s where renewing your vows at Disney comes in. For a special or milestone anniversary a lot of couples like the idea of renewing their vows and what better place than Disney!
Can You Renew Your Vows At Disney World?
The short answer is YES! We are coming up on our 20-year anniversary in a few years and I have been already thinking that a Disney Vow Renewal would be a fantastic way for us to celebrate. Disney will make your special day even more amazing with their Disney Magic. You will be in the planning process for a while as Disney opens Reservation windows at the 12-month mark.
How Do You Renew Your Vows At Disney World?
You will need to contact Disney Weddings directly or use a party/wedding planner that would reach out to Disney Weddings. Planning a Vow Renewal is very similar to planning a Disney Wedding. They will walk you through every step and give you plenty of options to make sure that the event turns out exactly how you want it.
Where In Disney World Can You Renew Your Vows?
There are a lot of locations within Walt Disney World where you can hold your event. It will be tough to choose just one location ranging from the Magic Kingdom with Cinderella’s Castle as a backdrop to your favorite country in Epcot’s World Showcase. There are also several fantastic locations at Disney Resorts to choose from.
- East Plaza Garden – Magic Kingdom
- Magic Kingdom Park Evening – Right on Main Street USA!
- Walt Disney World Railroad Train Station
- Canada Terrace – Epcot
- China Courtyard – Epcot
- Germany Courtyard – Epcot
- Italy Isola – Epcot, right on the water
- Italy Plaza
- Japan Courtyard Bonsai Promenade
- United Kingdom Courtyard
- Pandora – The World of Avatar
- Tamu Tamu – AK
- Tree Of Life
- Tower of Terror Courtyard
- Conch Key Marina – Grand Floridian

Can You Renew Your Vows On Disney Cruise Line?
Yes! There are several options for renewing your vows onboard a Disney Cruise Line.
Along with Walk Disney World and the Disney Cruise Lines you can also renew your vows at Disneyland park in California or Disney’s Aulani Resort located in Hawaii. Each location will have its own places where you can hold your ceremony as well as different costs and items available in the planning process.
How Much Does It Cost?
Here’s where it can get tricky. The cost will be determined by several variants. You will build your package based upon time of the year, day of the week, time of day, location, number of people attending and whether you want to add on a reception, accommodations after the ceremony, and so on. There are also several locations within Walt Disney World that have minimums in place no matter what you choose for your ceremony.
Event Minimums can range from $5,000 to $20,000 depending on location. Keep in mind having a ceremony at a smaller location like a resort versus having it in the middle on Main Street USA is definitely can make the dollar amount change quite a bit.
It is my understanding that there is a deposit required when booking, just like for vacations. It seems to be dependent on how much your event total is, I have however heard that it can be as low as $500 for a deposit.
What Packages Are Available?
While there are not any specific packages available it is basically an ala cart scenario. You have the choice to include as many or as few available options in your ceremony to fit your needs.
The available options for couples on top of the location for the ceremony are:
- Special Portrait Sessions
- Floral Bouquets
- Floral for your wedding party
- Floral Enhancements
- Themed Entertainment
- Disney Characters!
- Cinderella’s Coach
- Horse Drawn Carriage
You can also add on accommodations for guests as well as Honeymoon packages for Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and Aulani.
What’s Not Included
Disney can do just about everything for your special day, however, they do have some limits. A few things that they do not offer in planning your special day are:
- Hair and makeup services
- Vow Renewal attire
- Save the Date Announcements
Is There a Cheaper Way To Renew Your Vows At Disney?
If all of this seems like it’s just way too much for a Vow Renewal I totally get it! I honestly didn’t know how much it was going to be until I started doing my research. If everything that I have talked about is just a bit outside of your price range there are always ways around it. If you are looking for something super simple I have a few ideas for you.
If you just want it to be the two of you or even a guest or two I would book a vacation like you would for any other trip. Pick out a special outfit and maybe get the Bride / Groom ears from a gift shop once you are there.
If you each write down either new vows, your original vows, or something special to say then you could quietly go to a favorite place in the parks or a favorite resort and recite them to each other. It would be nice if you had a friend or family member there to either take pictures or video but you wouldn’t have to.
Doing it that way there wouldn’t be any additional cost to your trip but you would have the memory that you did a simple Vow Renewal at Disney.
Whether or not you choose the most extravagant ceremony put on by Disney or do something simple yourselves it really has to come down to what is most important to the two of you.
People who had very small weddings may choose to go all out for a Vow Renewal while people who had bigger weddings may just want a more intimate Vow Renewal that just means something special to them.
If you are looking for help planning a trip or vow renewal and want to help and advice from a travel agent we 100% recommend The Vacationeer. They go above and beyond for all of their guests and are the only travel agency that we would trust with our Disney planning needs.
