Moonlight Magic is back! On select days members of Disney’s Vacation Club and their families will be able to attend a very special event. Moonlight Magic is held select days in select parks as an after hours party for a DVC members only. Disney closes the park to the public and opens after hours for a special DVC member only event.
Perks of this event are
- Shorter wait times
- Rare character sightings
- Special treats and surprises
- Exclusive merchandise
Events this year will be held at 3 different parks and pre-registration is required as space is limited.
- Epcot March 17th & March 31st
- Hollywood Studios May 24th, June 16th, & July 14th
- Animal Kingdom July 26th August 31st, September 28th
DVC members can register themselves and up to 4 additional guests.
This last Moonlight Magic event at Epcot had a Disney Villain’s theme. Lot’s of rare characters came out of the woodwork to pose with guests. The Sheriff of Nottingham, Pain and Panic, Honest John and Gideon, The big Bad Wolf, Captain Hook, were among just some of the villain’s trying to cause mayhem. I am excited to see what theme they have planned for Hollywood Studios.
Guests at the last event were given vouchers for free snacks and drinks. There were also DJ’s pumping out the tunes late into the night. Lets not forget the best perk of all. Its nice and cool! No daytime Florida heat to slow you down. There was some DVC merchandise but nothing exclusive created for the event other than the popcorn bucket.
If you have DVC or family or friends with DVC you wont want to miss this rare chance to explore the parks after dark. Make sure to register as soon as the window opens as the event does fill fast!
I know I had considered buying DVC at one point but then I just moved here! I have a lot of friends that have DVC though and are very happy with the fact it allows them to visit more often and provides better accommodations for their families needs. With Disney just announcing that they will be adding on new DVC to the Polynesian in 2024, and the Grand Floridian already fast at work on their new DVC additions, I think Disney will be looking to attract more guests to join up by having events like Moonlight Magic. I know it would certainly help encourage me to sign up.
If you have never attended a Disney even after dark you should definitely give it a try. Its such a different feel when everything is a bit more quiet. In fact I am already thinking about the next Halloween Party event at Magic Kingdom this year! Its never to early to start planning right?
Here are some of my favorite things to bring on my WDW Travels!
Thank you for reading this article. I hope you found it helpful as you plan your magical vacation. Here are some things that I used on my own magical trips and I hope you’ll also find them helpful as well.
These are affiliate links, so if you do decide to use any of them, I’ll earn a commission. But in all honesty, these are the exact items that I use and recommend to everyone, even my own family.
General Carry Items: These are probably some of the most important things that everyone should have with them at Disney World.
A Good Pair of Disney Sunglasses – (I use this cheap pair all the time)
Every Day Chapstick – (I always have this on me anyway)
Sunscreen – (This is my Every Day Carry Sunscreen Ladies)
Park Bag: I’ve seen lots of people go to Disney World and make the simple mistake of not coming prepared. You can pick up a nice Loungefly park bag like this one and save the day for your family.
A Good Pair Of Sandals: Ladies, there’s nothing like a good pair of sandals like these in the parks. That way when it rains and your feet get wet you aren’t stuck walking around in a wet pair of sneakers all day.
Portable Neck Fans: These are just the most amazing little invention that you NEED to have at least for the kiddos. They charge via USB and are highly recommended, especially if you are going in the summer heat. You can check them out over here on Amazon.
Planning Your Trip: I know that planning a trip can be a lot. If you want more help planning your next trip I 100% recommend using The Vacationeer as a travel agent. They go above and beyond for their clients and they are the only ones that I can say that I would trust to plan my family’s travel.
