How Much Is Stroller Rental At Disney World?

How Much Is Stroller Rental At Disney World? Planning 1

So you are planning a trip to Disney and you have a little one or two. I know for our first trip with our daughter when she was 4 years old I was 50/50 on whether or not I needed a stroller for her.

When we were at home she didn’t need one anymore but Disney is more walking than anyone bargains for, honestly we got her a stroller when we went again at age 5 as well. There is something to be said for wanting a happy child and not wanting to hear about heir feet hurting or being tired.

The second trip we chose to rent the double stroller so that we had a place to put our park bag and so that our daughter would have more space because she was getting taller.

So you are probably asking how much is a stroller rental at Disney World?

For a single stroller, the daily rental rate is $15, if you buy for multiple days it lowers to $13 a day. For a double stroller, the daily rental rate is $31 and lowers to $27 for multiple-day stroller rental. Stroller rentals at Disney Springs require a $100 USD credit card deposit.

Single strollers are meant for children 50lbs or less and the double strollers are meant for children 100lbs or less.

The great feature of Disney world’s strollers is you pick them up when you enter the park and drop them off when you leave. If you don’t have super little ones it’s nice to not have to carry your stroller with you everywhere you go. These Disney World strollers are made of molded plastic so they may not be the most comfortable especially for really little ones.

What Do Disney Strollers Look Like?

Well, Disney strollers are not the fanciest thing this side of the Kingdom, but they get the job done and boy are they sturdy! I swear you could run one of these things over with a train and it would keep on rolling.

They come in a basic tan color. You can see an image of one below.

Is It Better To Rent A Stroller At Disney World?

Personally, we used Disney-provided strollers for every trip with our daughter. It just seemed so much easier than bringing our own or renting one from another company. But that was purely a personal choice and no matter what I would rent a stroller from somewhere, whether it was a stroller company in Orlando or from Disney themselves. If you have really little ones though, it would probably be best to rent a bit nicer one from a 3rd party company in the area because they offer several well known jogger style strollers meant for the littlest guests.

What Age Is Too Big For A Stroller At Disney World?

When you have a little one generally speaking you know when your child has outgrown a stroller for everyday life. Disney trips are a different beast though. There is a lot more walking involved then taking your child to a local park or theme park.

By the time that we took our daughter for her first trip to Walt Disney World, she has long outgrown a stroller at home. She was 4 and could take on any day at our local, little, theme park. We knew, however, that for this Disney trip we would want and need a stroller for her. We ended up just renting a single stroller for her for the trip and it was a lifesaver. On one Epcot day, she was toast by the time that we got to Germany. It was nice to have her be able to take a nap in the stroller while we continued around the countries.

Again when she was 5 we rented a stroller for her, she was still below the weight limit and we knew that it would be handy for her little legs as well as carrying our purchases. Personally, I think for most children 5 is a good cut-off for strollers at Disney World. Even if a child is below the weight limit at an older age, they are old enough to handle walking around the parks.

Can I Bring My Own Stroller?

You can absolutely bring your own stroller. There are some pros and cons of that along with renting one.

If you bring your own and you are flying, you will need to check it with the airline and have it with you at all times on your trip.

If you are trying to save some money then bringing your own may make the most sense.

Conclusion

Whether you bring your own, rent a Disney stroller or use one of the Orlando companies it really is a personal preference. It’s great that these outside companies offer some of the most popular strollers so that you can possibly find a stroller like what you may use at home.

For us, our daughter had outgrown strollers for home use so we didn’t have one to bring on the trip. We knew that she would need something and we knew we would only need it while in the parks, so we chose to use Disney’s strollers. We prepaid for the length of our trip to get the best price.
