How to Get in Shape for Disney World

How to Get in Shape for Disney World Tips 1

Whether you are going to Disney World for a two-week family vacation or just to spend the day, it is important to make sure your body can handle all of the walking. The walking distance at magic kingdom is 2.5 miles per hour which means that in one day you would walk 13+ miles. I have watched my own steps and I have done over 15 miles personally, so I know this to be a fact!

Should I Follow a Specific Diet Before I Go to Disney World?

There are certain foods you should eat before going to Disney World. You should eat lighter, healthier meals that will not weigh you down while walking all day around the park. Foods that are high in protein and fiber could be a good idea for breakfast because they require more energy to digest but leave us feeling full for longer periods of time.

It is also important to stay hydrated by drinking around six to eight glasses of water every day. Eating the right foods and staying hydrated will not only help you feel better, it will also help your skin look more fresh and healthy.

How Much Should I Walk to Prepare for Disney?

It is important to make sure your body can handle the amount of walking you will be doing. This means that if you are not used to walking a lot, it would be best to start out with shorter walks three to four weeks before going to Disney World. After those three or four weeks, try increasing your daily distance by 10% each week until you are used to walking five or six miles a day. If you can walk around five or six miles at least three days out of the week for four weeks before your trip, then you will be able to comfortably walk 13+ miles at Disney World in one day and have fun doing it.

What Exercises Should I Do?

Before you go to Disney World, it would also be a good idea to do some exercising. There are many exercises that will help your body get in shape for walking long distances at Disney World. Some good leg work outs include squats, lunges, and calf raises. Running in place or jumping rope are both great ways to build up an appetite for walking your legs off at Disney World.

If you want to get in shape for Disney, one of the best exercises is simply walking around your neighborhood or local park. It is important to remember that it takes time to be able to walk long distances so keep adding distance until you feel comfortable with how far you are walking.

How Do You Look Good at Disney World?

When you arrive at Disney World, it is important to dress comfortably. Try not to wear shoes that will make your feet ache or heels that could be a hazard while walking long distances around the park. If you are going for more than one day, bring a pair of shorts and different colored t-shirts so you can mix and match outfits. It is also important to bring a small backpack with you so you can pack sunscreen, Chapstick, tissues, anti-bacterial wipes, and other items that will help you feel fresh all day long.

How Do I Stop My Feet From Hurting at Disney World?

It is a good idea to bring a small foot care kit with you when you go on a trip to Disney World. This means buying some sports sandals, wearing these shoes only during the day at Disney World and switching back to regular shoes before going out at night, and bringing sneakers along for the night. It is also a good idea to put some sports medicine like Icy Hot on your feet before you go to bed at night. If you wake up with tired or swollen feet, soaking them in warm water for around 30 minutes can make the swelling go down and make regularly sized shoes fit better.

One other way to keep your feet feeling fresh at Disney World is by wearing comfortable socks. When our feet are not hurting, we feel better and walk more freely which translates to having a better time at Disney World.

How Many Miles Do You Walk at Magic Kingdom?

The average person walks around 5 miles at Magic Kingdom, but this number can fluctuate greatly depending on the group you are with and what rides you go on. For example, if you go on all the spinning rides like The Mad Tea Party or Dumbo the Flying Elephant, you will probably walk a lot more than usual.

Another way to possibly increase or decrease your walking distance is by going to Magic Kingdom before or after the park opens. When the park first opens, a lot of people are still getting there and taking their time walking to the different rides. The later you come in the day, the more crowded it will be and this means that you will probably walk further at night than you would during the day.

How Many Miles Does Hollywood Studios Equal?

When at Disney World, it is important to remember that each park you go to has its own walking standards. For example, someone who is used to walking five or six miles a day could probably walk around three or four miles per day at Hollywood Studios. This is because Hollywood Studios is not as spread out as Magic Kingdom making it much easier to see everything in a smaller amount of time.

How Many Miles Do You Walk at EPCOT?

At Epcot, it is more or less the same case as Hollywood Studios. The park is not too big and you can get around most of the park in five miles or so depending on how long you spend at each ride. There are a few areas where you will probably want to walk further such as Future World and World Showcase because there are a lot of rides in these areas.

That being said, most people will only walk around three or four miles at Epcot per day unless they are sitting down for a meal or spending too much time on one ride. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes that have plenty of room for your feet to breathe and bring some extra socks so you can switch them when they get smelly.

How Many Miles Do You Walk at Animal Kingdom?

Animal Kingdom has a large area for walking around, but there are quite a few rides in this area too. Because of this, most people will only walk about five or six miles around the park per day which is very similar to Hollywood Studios. Like any theme park, you will probably do most of your walking when going to different rides.

However, there are a few places where you will want to walk longer such as Dinoland and Asia. Animal Kingdom is separated into different areas such as Dinoland and Asia where some of the rides are in these separate areas. If you want to ride these rides, you will have to walk a little further than usual.

Conclusion

It is important to take all of this into consideration when planning your trip to Disney World so you do not end up exhausted or with feet that are in pain. You can avoid having sore feet by wearing comfortable shoes and socks that breathe well during the day, switching out your socks when they get smelly and wearing shoes that fit properly.

Another thing you can do to make sure your feet stay pain free is by staying upright as much as possible and not sitting down for too long. You want to make sure the blood in your legs flows correctly which will help out with sore feet a lot more than just sitting down all day. It is also important to drink plenty of water to help with muscle pains and take short walk breaks every hour or two throughout the day if you are having a lot of foot pain.

A Good Pair Of Sandals: Ladies, there’s nothing like a good pair of sandals like these in the parks. That way when it rains and your feet get wet you aren’t stuck walking around in a wet pair of sneakers all day.
