In just a few short days Disney will be welcoming back guests to the parks. July 11th Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom both open to the public. July 15th EPCOT and Hollywood Studios opens to the public.
When these dates were first announced, Disney had paused new reservations for resort stays for 2020. Well, as of Yesterday, July 9th, Disney has reopened the reservation system for guests wanting to book resort reservations for 2020. There are still some resorts that will be opening in phases and some not even announced as opening yet. Here’s the list from Disney:
Disney’s Pop Century Resort
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
Disney’s BoardWalk Resort
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
As with guests with current reservations, new bookings will require guests to secure a park reservation along with their park ticket for the days they wish to visit the theme parks. Currently this system in in place thru September 2021.
Even though your experience will look a little different the next time you visit, there is still plenty of Magic to look forward to. Personally I am looking forward to visiting this fall and experiencing the International Food and Wine festival with the addition of a hybrid Flower and Garden festival sprinkled in. It will be great to experience two of my favorite festivals at once!
If you’re planning a visit for this year, Disney recommends checking out their “Know Before You Go” page at DisneyWorld.com/Updates, where you’ll find tips and information like how to make park reservations after purchasing your tickets.
